Gillian Shields

Anna Currey has beautifully illustrated this book by Gillian shields - it is a warm book with rhyming couplets that tells of the joy of welcoming a baby into the world and of its potential. A lovely book for the very young - of gentle adventure and love. I recommend it.

This is a good bedtime book for small children. I liked the way it follows a child's normal bedtime routine (might possibly help reinforce this routine with younger children who feel a bit reluctant to go to bed, but that would also depend on how strong willed your child is and how much a fight going to bed is!). The book is written in verse and it's comes across as a soothing lullaby. I also liked the pictures (reminded me a bit of Beatrix Potter).

A beautiful children's book written about two dogs that fall in love in the park. Posh Pooch Esme Lamour meets downtown Samuel Bloom.

As with all love stories nothing runs smoothly for these doggie frinds but wait and see the story does have a happy ending .

The book is wonderfully written in lines that rhyme and the pictures are great because they are easy to comprehend by a young child, between the posh and the flats around our cities, where the wealthy and the poor don't mix!!
