I read and enjoyed The Crown of Stars series but found it confusing and inaccessible at times. This book - the first in a new series is more polished and flows more freely. The chcaracters are more understandable and easy to identify with, and the plots (multiple!) are easier to follow.

I would thoroughly recommend this book.

The second book in this series starts to bring together the separate plot lines from the first book. The same characters are revealed in more depth and finally meet each other.

An enjoyable sequel and one that makes you eagerly anticipate the next instalment.
