Men I've Loved Before

Another chick-lit book from a very popular writer, this time covering the decision of a couple whether or not to have children.

One could take issue with many aspects of this book - the depiction of the male characters, inconsistency regarding communication between the pair, need for an explanation of why not to have children, Natalie's research of her past (why would this help !) but this is not meant to be a serious heavy tome on the subject.

This is an easy light-hearted well written read with enough plot twists and turns to keep it entertaining. Great for holidays !

Tell Me Something (review 2)

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, after not being too impressed with some of Parks' others. I found it easy to read with a good storyline that steadily developed throughout the book. The ending was very predictable, but that did not make the book any less enjoyable to read. The main character, Elizabeth, did get a little annoying at times, with her obsession for having a baby, but the other characters in the story compensated for this quite well.
After reading this i am prepared to give more of Adele Parks' books a go.

Unfortunately i did not enjoy this book. I found the storyline repetitive, the characters annoying, and not a lot seemed to happen for the majority of the book. The chapters were also quite long, which I found meant that I could not just sit down to read one chapter here and there, something I tend to enjoy about chick-lit novels. In my opinion, not one of adele parks' best.

A good book with great characters that you can really get involved with. An easy story to follow, which is just what you need from a chick-lit, however the ending is a little weak, leaving you wanting to know what happens next.
Good for reading on holiday by the pool!

Young Wives Tales was the first of Adele Park's books to be printed in hardback in April 2007. This is yet another of her fascinating stories of a group of young wives who meet not only at the school gate but also in their work places.

Rose the key charactor opens the story on the first day of a new term at school. She feels she has done a really good job of keeping her children stable after the breakup of her marriage, where her husband went off with some one else and the problems that entales.
