Play to the End is a very absorbing novel which is not only the life of an actor but a crime novel. Actor Toby Flood arrives back in Brighton where his soon to be ex-wife lives. He has come to play the final week of a Joe Orton Play 'Lodger in the Throat', which is just ending its nine week run from its start at Guildford. He is contacted by his ex-wife because she has a stalker. She asks Toby for old times sake to follow the man and get to the bottom of things.
