Past Imperfect is a brilliant observation of the upper classes of society by Julian Fellowes, and if you have any memories of Truman Capote or Dominique Dunne who are the great American observers of life I think you'll agree that all of them have one thing in common and that is a great waspish sense of humour  that has you going 'Ouch!'.

I was gripped by the second page, having the ending at the begining, was to my mind a stroke of genius. It is the tale of Dirk, who we first meet arriving at the camp, his entrance made me want to know why? Where from? We hear his tale, a wonderful story, set on the world of Midkemia, it gives us a glimpse of the life that continues after the Tsuranni, a race from the world of Kelewan, enslave the people of Lord Paul of White Hills estate. It tells us of dangers from those we know, can be far greater than those we do not.
