Has the whole world gone crazy? Everyone's talking about swine flu epidemic; it's in all the newspapers, some people are even covering their mouths and noses with a mask! What's going on? wonders Jasmine... Soon enough, after an unfortunate incident on a bus, she gets to experience swine flu first hand. Luckily the Medikidz, a group of superheroes, are on hand to help Jasmine (and her trickster brother Vijay) understand what's going on! With Jasmine quarantined, Pump, Chi, Skinderella, Gastro, Axon and their trusty robot, Abacus, take Vijay to Mediland a distant planet whose geography and inhabitants bear a striking resemblance to the human body - to teach him all about Swine Flu. On his journey, he'll kick the immune system army into gear and witness the battle inside the body against Swiney and his virus friends. The Medikidz range of graphic novels explains childhood illness in a way that is imaginative, engaging and easy to understand. Developed by doctors, Medikidz does not 'sugarcoat' serious problems; rather the information they provide empowers children to take ownership of their disease.

Review
Well the press certainly went into hyper drive with Swine Flu, but for a child it is quite frightening especially if you are being told that people around you are going to die if they catch so much as a sniffle.
Here with the help of the Medikidz Superheroes Jasmine is reassured that she will be fine, but our heroes show her quite graphically who's who in the immune system helping her to fight off the Swine Flu virus.
The graphics here are second to none and the humour helps when empowering kids with relevant knowledge so that they understand their situation.
Defintely one to recommend.
