Synopsis

This is the exciting final volume in the glorious fantasy series "The Dreamers"...The attacks of the dreadful insect queen known as the Vlagh have been repelled in three of the Elder Gods' realms. Now, only the land ruled by the Goddess Aracia remains for the Vlagh to send her hordes to attack. But while the Gods, their younger avatars and their human comrades have emerged victorious from all previous encounters, this time the Goddess herself may be their greatest foe - she craves worship and hates the idea of being replaced by a younger God when her time comes to an end! And that time is approaching fast. This is a mighty conclusion to a fabulous series!

Review

The Dreamers Book 4 - David and Leigh Eddings

Overall I enjoyed the books, but they suffered from the fact that I have read almost all of their other books and could see virtual carbon copies of characters resurfacing in this series. Longbow is a Sparhawk of the Elenium and Tamuli reborn and the Goddess Eleria/Balacenia is Aphrael with Polgara turning up as Ara, a wise woman with a penchant for hearty flavoursome cooking!!!

All that aside, I did enjoy reading The Dreamers books and would recommend them to anyone who likes David and Leigh Eddings books already and for those who like the likes of Raymond E. Feist. The series losing some steam towards the end but there is a likeable enough conclusion to the story as a whole.

Maybe I've just read too many books of a similar ilk recently and that has made me less inclined to wax lyrical but I would definately ask people to give the series a shout.
