Meet Rocky, the greyhound who needs a new start, and the Stephenson family, who need him even more - they just don't know it yet!
Rocky was once Sheldon Rocket, a champion racer. Dad thinks he's still a winner - then he discovers what a big mistake he's made.
Now it's the end of the line for both of them, unless Anna can find a way to give Rocky - and her family - one last chance.
Review
Having myself owned a rescue greyhound called Feather - I was immediately captivated by Jayne Woodhouse's story - The Stephensons' Rocket about an ex racer called Sheldon Rocket, and how he effects the Stephenson family and friends.
The story is told from eldest daughter Anna's perspective, who desperately wants to keep this bag of skin and bones that her father has been conned into paying £100 for, thinking he can earn money when Rocky wins races!
As the story unfolds we see how Rocky softens the hearts of not only the family but Marcus, a school friend and Wilf the crochety old next door neighbour and completely wins everyone over. And in regaining his racing health he brings the family closer together.
It is a well written and uplifting story that I would recommend to everyone - it also brought back so many happy memories for me when Feather join our family with 5 kids!
