Tiny footprints in Gustav's room put her on the trail of a naughty Indian monkey. Before long she and her friends are aboard a steamer to India, on a quest to find the monkey and save Champlon. Welcomed into the palace of the boy Maharajah, a fabulous adventure ensues: Tiger hunts, court intrigue and a mountain expedition to find the lost paradise of Shambala...A second fantastic story in a wonderfully exotic setting from an exhilarating writer.

Review

Natasha Narayan in my eyes can do no wrong - she is simply put - a brilliant writer who draws us into her story from the word go.

I love the way in which she invokes a strong and very colourful Victorian era with her cast of characters. She never disappoints and I find all her books real page turners making you want to look out for Kit Salter and her friends on what ever adventures and country they land up in - in this care India. Natasha brings in all the colour and culture of the period with great aplomb.

There are of course plenty of laughs and high adventure to keep the reader entranced from the first page to the last.

A book I highly recommend.
