Synopsis

"To anyone who is wondering if God still moves among us as He did in the Bible, here is a story to show the truth--He does! It spoke to something so deep inside me that I couldn't relax until I reached the end. And even then I knew it was just the beginning."

Review

''So You Don't Want to go to Church Anymore" what an unusual title! Well it made me want to read the book and see what ideas they might have within the covers to make you want to go back.

Its not a book that nags you to go back, but it does follow the conversations that Jake has with someone who expounds the Gospels so well, that Jake thinks this man named John, who talks of Jesus as if he really knows him - could he be John one of the 12 apostles.  Jake's going through a rough time when he meets John, and the chats that he has with John make him look at his faith in a deeper more meaningful way.    John  does not have a telephone or email or address so there is no way of contacting him, which makes Jake even more suspicious.  But it seems that when ever he is faced with a problem John appears for one of his chats to help him clear his mind.

This is a wonderfully challenging book, but also a book which opens up new ways to look at old problems. It also teaches you not to judge others , and by the way that Jake is helped he then helps others who he comes into contact with, shows how it spreads like  a continually enriching circle of the  God's love for us all.

This is an exceptional story that will make you laugh and cry and put you in awe of the love  that God has for all his Children!  It will definitely challenge what you think about Church and the Bible and what it is all about!

The authors Wayne Jacobsen and Dave Coleman have opened up a great new way though Jake and John to understand God's love for us all, and it also helps us to understand the feelings of others and respect their views.

This story is so well written that I was debating in my head as to whether it was an angel, or even one of the apostles or just Christ showing himself to Jake so that he could bring him closer to him.
