Synopsis

This is what happens to Philipa Fisher when Daisy the new girl at school, anounces that she has come to be her fairy godsister. Daisy dosen't want to be there, but she has a job to do. So she's not best pleased with Philippa. And Philippa has to find a good way to use her three Wish Vouchers, which is easier said than done - especially when each one seems to make things worse. A story that sparkles with magic and is all about friendship, luck and how we decide what we really, really want.

Review

This starts as a wonderful tale of two school friends that are being separated because one has to move away. Philippa is staying behind and Charlotte is moving away, they have played together since they were very little and in Philippa's garden there is a tree house, where they have spent long summer holidays playing together, talking of fairies and Philippa doing magic tricks her dad has taught her.

Then comes the day when they are to part and they make each other a daisy chain necklace and vow to keep them for ever to show that their friendship will not end. At the same time as this Phillipa tells Charlotte to go and say one last time to the tree house but allows her to go on her own, so that she can do it privately. During the time in the tree house Philippa finds a very long and bright Daisy so she decides to put it in her special tin in the tree house and that's when the fun begins!

Liz Kessler's beautifully written book and with great illustrations. I may be an adult but I loved this book about fairies and a child who is terribly lonely as her best friend leaves and she has the dottiest of parents who are permanently dressed in bizarre clothes and drive the most awful car.

But now, I can not tell you what happens every child loves a fairy story and this is certainly a match for Liz Kessler's other well known stories of Emily Windsnap - the Mermaid
