Synopsis

A CHILD CALLED 'IT' is Dave Pelzer's story is of a child beaten and starved by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother: a mother who played tortuous, unpredictable games that left one of her three sons nearly dead. Review

My Story - brings three stories together A child called It, The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave all together. The are three particularly had books to read but are very readable. I found the first book A child called 'IT' very hard to read about a child who was never given a name. The lost boy is about his time as an adolescent. The third part A Man named Dave is how that boy turned his life around and teaches many to understand how to help others overcome similar adversity.

I have read the books and listened to the Cd's, I found the Cd's easier to listen to than the books were to read. Dave Pelzer's remarkable journey from a child who lived in terror of his unstable, violently unpredictable mother's every move. to his emergence as an inspiration to all.

This is a book that can help many to understand their troubled childhood and adolescence. I know my two eldest grandchildren have read this book and they found it an inspiration which they shared with their school friends as they were trying to cope with adolescence and realised that their stable home life was much better than they had thought and saw that they were very much better off than many others.
