Synopsis

Largo's best friend, Simon Ovronnaz, is being targeted by the secret services of Myanmar (formerly Burma). Simon and his girlfriend are wrongfully convicted of murder and imprisoned. After a very flawed trial, Simon is condemned to death and transferred to the infamous Fort Makiling. Blissfully ignorant of his friend's fate, Largo is enjoying a romantic adventure at the top of the world, while the plot against him deepens dangerously

Review

The Hour Of The Tiger is a different take on comics - a more euro-centric approach to the story. Based on a series of novels written in 1970's Belgium the story follows Largo Winch as he fights to keep hold of his company Group W. The plot normally revolves around espionage, double dealings and a fair amount of daring do, and involves two "albums" (collected editions) - one in which Largo gets put in an impossible situation and the other where he is able to escape or triumph over the adversity. The Hour Of The Tiger reminded me of the novels of Gavin Lyall and if you like stories involving adventure, industrial espionage and spy-games then I think you will enjoy this.
