This is another first for me as I have never read the Good News Bible and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how readable it is. Being a die hard NIV person I find the translation makes a great deal of sense plus there are lots of added extras that I didn't expect like a word list, maps, an index all at the back. At the front there is a wonderful contents section with everything broken down into clear section plus were to find the parables of Jesus or special occasions. The lists go on encouraging the reader to explore the Bible in a very easy way.
Now there is another added extra which is a fantastic fuschia pink it's what attracted me to pick up this version of the Bible - plus the print is so incredibly clear that you won't need the magnifying glass!
A terrific colour and translation that would make a great gift for any age person whether they are 9 - 190.
