Gentle Dying is a wonderful tool to help anyone with a terminal illness or those caring for someone who is dying. A modern death often means being cared for by strangers in an unfamiliar place, away from home where the emphasis is on preventing death rather than embracing it in a compassionate way. Gentle Dying is about switching the focus from cure to human touch and emotional support. Full of practical advice and simple techniques to support the dying process for carers and those that are dying. Gentle Dying will show you that death isn't something to be feared but a rite of passage, a time of gentle reflection, optimism and a preparation for the next life.
Review
This is a wonderful book in which Felicity Warner has taken time to do excellent research and also to train as a Soul Midwife in helping people to die with dignity and peace.
I love how the book is set out using italics and double spacing between each line making the book very easy to read.
Gentle Dying is clearly set out with well defined chapters helping people to absorb what it is they need to do or be.
I highly recommend this for everyone because we do not know when serious illness can strike us, but with the tools that Felicity Warner gives us they go a long way to taking out the fear. and making for a very peaceful death for both the dying and the friend and family.
