The magic ring that Emily Windsnap - half mermaid, half ordinary girl - finds buried in the sand belongs to Neptune, and he wants it back. But the ring, once on, won't come off, and Neptune puts a terrible curse on Emily. A wildly exciting underwater adventure, written with warmth and charm, and with fascinating new characters as well as old friends like mystic Millie, creepy Mr Beeston, and Emily's mermaid friend Shona Silkfin.
Review
Book 2 -This is another fabulous disc for young people and adults to listen to in the car on a journey.
Emily as we know is a girl, but when she goes into water she becomes a mermaid.
This story starts when she finds a magical ring buried in the sand. Once she puts the ring on it will not come off - Emily finds that this sends Neptune into such a rage that he curses her and sends boat, Fortuna spinning through the storms and across the oceans. Why is Neptune so angry? Why is the ring so special - and what will she find at the strange castle she can see in the middle of the ocean rising out of the mist?
Yet another beautiful disc set for us all to enjoy as we go on our travels again with Emily. My grandaughter's friends loved the first and second one now they are about to listen to this one and from what I have been told by their mum its about the only time they don't argue when they are in the car.
Great audio collection, great story, great use of words and wonderful story telling and well read by Teresa Gallagher
