Synopsis

In "Deluge" the selkie twins, Ronan and Murel, leave Petaybee on a mission to help rescue their friend Marmie, who has been falsely arrested on the orders of a corrupt Colonel. However, the Colonel has more power in the Company than they realized and they end up being imprisoned themselves and taken to the Gwinnet Incarceration Colony. There they have to try to evade the clutches of their old adversary Dr Mabu, an unscrupulous scientist who wants to study their unusual shape-changing ability, and doesn't care how much pain her experiments cause them. Meanwhile, the powerful and avaricious Company is making another attempt to take over the world of Petaybee for its resources, and the twins parents, Yana and Sean, along with the entire planet, must fight for the independence of their sentient world once and for all...

Review

Having read the previous two books in this saga I have been waiting for a chance to read this. The action starts from the get go and just keeps moving. Because of the way the events are viewed from various peoples perspective the story does at time feel a little disjointed however this does give the reader a chance to understand the full situation. Because of the way the action is portrayed from the early parts all the way through when you get to read what happens when the hero's finally win out the ending feels a little bit under described. This makes the last few chapters seem brushed over rather than the fantastic description of the previous events.

The entire twins of Petaybee has been captivating and enjoyable to read. The characters will be enjoyed by young and old alike, however unless you are able to read all three books consecutively without a break the story does not seem to track well. It does not detract from the great writing and adventure but would leave you feeling each book is incomplete until you can start reading the next.
