The park - a place where children play, friends sit and gossip and people walk their dogs. But in the shadows a predator watches...and waits...then chooses his first victim. But someone has seen the killer and come forward as a witness - someone who the killer must stop at all costs. For DS Geraldine Steel, it is a race against time to find the killer as two more bodies are found.
A gripping psychological thriller introducing Geraldine Steel, a woman whose past is threatening to collide with her future.

Review
When I started reading Cut Short by Leigh Russell it reminded me alot of when I read Ian Rankin's 'Wolfman' now called 'Tooth and Nail' way back in 1992! Is DI Geraldine Steel the new Rebus - it could be because the atmosphere of the book is very similar, although Geraldine is a much lighter character as opposed to the brooding Rebus.
This is a brilliant debut book with short chapters that help to make the flow of the story move at a very fast pace.
A new kid on the block? Definitely, and one I feel we're going to see grow and grow. Recommended.
