Synopsis

Atticus the Storyteller is determined to take part in the great Storytelling Festival near Troy. He leaves his family in Crete and sets off on a year-long journey round Greece with his donkey, Melissa; and wherever he goes he tells his favourite myths to anyone who'll listen. The myths include all the favourites, such as the wanderings of Odysseus, the labours of Heracles, the stories of King Midas, Daedalus and Icarus, and Theseus and the Minotaur.

Review

Atticus the Storyteller's 100 Greek Myths read by Simon Russell Beale, is an excellent way for both children and adults to hear about the most popular and also some unknown Greek Myths in short sharps doses. Each story is no more than 4 minutes with most being just over 2 minutes.

This actually took me right back to my own childhood when I used to spend many hours reading all the great Greek Myhtological stories. I love the clear concise way this audio book has been put together that has Atticus taking us on quite a journey on his way to Troy. It which will keep any child riveted and parents saying "I didn't know that" for example do you know the story of the 'Rainbow Eggs' or the 'Cattle Stealer' - no neither did I - but it made for fascinating listening. An excellent audio book that I very much recommend. There is even a map you can follow on Lucy Coates website.
