This book presents a riotously funny romance of misunderstanding and mayhem. It's a must for anyone who's ever fallen for the wrong man. When Rose escapes from London and Hugh - her devastatingly handsome, intelligent and charming ex-lover - she has no idea that her occupation as an aromatherapist will cause such a scandal in her new country village. All she wants is a bit of peace and quiet, but her weird and wonderful neighbours soon ensure that her life is more complicated and chaotic than it ever was before. Maybe that's because she's in love again...
Review
A Whiff of Scandal, is the story of Rose an aromatherapist who moves away from London to Milton Keynes to run her business. But is Milton Keynes ready for someone who works from home at such a profession. By the looks of it no, because the story becomes one of misunderstanding and mayhem.
The book is riotously funny and at the start of each chapter there is the reference to an aromatheraphy oil and what it is good for and how it can help someones innermost feelings.
I loved the flow and the stupidity of the neighbours opposite, who instead of introducing themselves assumed she was running some kind of passion parlour. But as usual they jumped to the wrong conclusions and that is where the hilarity starts and the gossip and how wrong they are.
I just read this book for the sake of a bit of light relief in this mad world that we live in today. Carol is a brilliantlly witty author and has a passion for what she writes.
