Trish Maguire needs all the time she can find to help her young half-brother adjust to life after the violent death of his mother. Sir Henry Buxford, an influential acquaintance, has other ideas. He asks Trish to investigate one of the private charities, a magnificent art collection that has been lost for most of the twentieth century. Trish's research takes her not only into the heart of an engrossing love story, but also the agonising reality of life in the trenches of the First World War. She soon discovers a web of deceit that has spanned the decades since, catching all kinds of people in its filaments.
Review
I enjoyed Natasha Cooper's book and was amazed how she managed to place her hero of the book and to research all the amazing facts that are featured in the book. I really did not expect to discover that there is so much that goes on behind the scenes in a reputable autioneers, including some who will willingly push the price of an item up just to gain a better price and will do anything just to satisfy their own needs and wants.
I just hope it is, that I never come across some dealer like that if I ever have to sell something.
A wonderful book and a real suspence thriller with murder and gang threats all thown in. Great read and it is good to see that all genres of books are now being printed - in large print for those with poor eyesight.
