Meanwhile Conn is hiding his own secret - his connection to the sinister Underlord, Crowe ...The first in a compelling, beautifully written trilogy, with wonderful characters you'll want to read more and more about.

Review

The Magic Thief is the most magical children's book I have read for a long time.

The characters are wonderful, the goodies and the baddies and I loved the apprentice Conn and his wizard superior Nevery Flingas. Conn starts off by being a servant and then becomes much more, he has a feel for the magic and goes about doing things that a normal boy would not do, but that doesn't matter because he is a little hero.

This book was really impossible to put down, I started reading at 6.00am this morning and finished by 10.30am.  Breakfast was delayed I just had to know what happened and how they were going to get the magic back.

Sarah Prineas has conjoured up the most unusual story line and the book deserves to go far. It is very well written, the illustrations and the Wizard's notes are interspersed with illustrations in black and white just as they would have been in the era it is set.

This book is well set out very easy to read the language is perfect for any child above seven to read. I want more and I look forward two the rest of the trilogy coming into print.
