But being the New Girl is turning out to be scary, too, especially since one of the firls in Allie's new class - Rosemary - doesn't like her. In fact, Rosemary says she's going to beat Allie up after school. Everyone seems to have a opinion on how Allie should handle the situation. How can Allie tell who's right? Who knew it was going to be so hard being the New Girl?

Review

Allie's first day at her new  school, is fraught with problems! Firstly her young brother went to kindergarton dressed as a pirate but the older kids thought he was a cutie but they were taking the micky out of her.  Her class mates were also very cruel to her so she kept making up rules about the things that were happening to her.

As you can tell everything is all very new for Allie Finkle, she has moved to a new home and is starting a new school, and has to make new friends. On the first day she has to write an essay, when the teacher is called out of the room goody two shoes Rosemary is told to collect up the essays and put them on the teacher's desk.  But Rosemary goes one step further an takes the micky out of Allie's essay but the teacher comes in and tells her off. That is when Allie decides to write some more new rules for her book,

One of the rules was "it's never funny taking the micky out of a new girl on their first day" that should be a very normal rule in every school. Another is "you shouldn't lie to adults" or "you do not eat red vegetables with meat".  Three of the many rules that were put into the story.

Some of the rules that come about over the length of the four discs are brilliant.  I think many a child could learn a new way of respect for one another from this young child named Allie Finkle.

I found this audio book highly amusing and great for a long car journey with children.
