It seem to me that the time span between each London Book Fair just gets shorter and shorter. This year the British Council are bringing in some Chinese authors to talk about their culture and literature.
On the opening day Monday April 16th Peter James will be Author of the Day talking about his Roy Grace Novels like 'Dead Like you' here he is talking about the book. Peter was one of hte first advocates on the ebook way back in the early 90s - so it should be very interesting to see what he has to say on the subject as well as his novels.
On Tuesday April 17th Chinese writer Bi Feiyu is author of the day where he will be talking about his books and screen writing. He is the recipient of several literary awards, including the Xu Lun Prize which he has won twice. He co-wrote the film Shanghai Triad, which was directed by acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou and nominated for a Golden Globe.
His novel The Moon Opera was long-listed for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize in 2008, and his novel Three Sisters, an epic portrayal of life in modern China, won the 2010 Man Asian Literary Prize.
On Wednesday April 18th the author of the day is children's author Patrick Ness whose Chaos Walking trilogy won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, the Costa Children's Book of the Year Prize, and the Booktrust Teenage Prize.
Patrick writes in a very unusual way and I really feel that his Chaos Walking Trilogy could be made into an excellent series of Manga films.
I haven't quite made up my mind on which day I will be going because they all look so good.
