Simon Yates is a mountaineer with a very dry sense of humour which very definitely came across in a talk I saw him at recently. I have chosen his book Againt the Wall as my book of the month because it portrays so much emotion and frustration as well as the minutia of the actual climb of the East Face of the Central Towers of Paine in Chile.

I did a very short interview with him at the talk and will be doing a much longer email interview.

Testament by Alis Hawkins is our October Book of the Month. It is a brilliant story set in todays time and the 15th century  involving the discovery of a hidden picture in an old colledge hall and in the past, how the hall was built. This includes all the religious and political themes of the day and how people saw physical disability. I highly recommend it.
